can i x-fi music card power a unidirectional microphone?

wondering if i can plug a karaoke like mic into my sound card for some pc karaoke action ;) on the cheap.

What connector does your mic have? XLR? your sound card more than likely does not have one of those. There are xlr to usb adapters though.
