If I am not mistaken I came across a statement that I could use a standard Scythe S-Flex 120mm fan with the Thermalright HR-03 GT vid card cooler and the stock fan clips supplied. It is written in the instructions to use a 92mm, which S-Flex are not.

So, can I 120mm?

The clips are made to fit a 92 mm fan specifically, but you could bend the clips a bit so you could fit a 120 mm fan in as well, no problem :)

oh, you just had to. Is "120 Scythe FAQ" covered in Search? of course not. Who said that??

I haven't done any real testing, but just an observation. A 120mm fan overlaps the HS by quite a bit, and has a larger dead zone in the center. A 92mm fan fits right into the grooves of the HS, and has a smaller dead zone. The 92mm might provide better airflow given similar spec fans.

I'm currently using this Panaflo (http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/panaflo-nmb-mat-92mm-high-output-fba09a12h1bx.html) on my HR03GT, and volt-modded GTS (1.35v idle), and am very happy w/ the results. The fan is pretty quiet even when going full blast.
