Hey guys I see I'm making some progress in the folding team list! I was at the mid 150's now I'm in 120's I'm folding as much as I can with my two "little" machines. Will try to get further!
Good for you! I used to be a big contender before 2.0 came out, But I moved out on my own and cannot afford the power bill to run 9 computers.

I wondered where all of that HP went. The power bill can get up there with so many machines. We're glad to have ya no matter what you're using :)
The Coolest. Those AMD's should give you a nice kick in the stats. :)

In the beginning I thought Intel machines would be more economical to fold on but when you look at it from an actual production angle it comes out about even. When you compute it over time ( power bill to power bill) the Athlons are more expensive due to their high watt consumption. That's something else we could try to breakdown. Completed wu vs watts vs cpu vs system cost. That'll help some of the guy's with minimal funding make better choices on equipment cost vs production.

Sounds a good idea to put this into a sticky thread, that way new mwmbers can work out the best option for their money!! I have one athlon and the rest of my little farm is intel!!

It's almost crazy how much faster Athlons fold than Pentiums. I'm lucky in that my power is included in my rent, DSL also, so I can turn that money into the machines. My wife thinks I've lost my mind but she leaves me alone. If I ever stop doing this I might start bar hopping.:D

I don't worry about the power bill, my 4 overclocked comps double as space heaters... ;)
8 degrees out there this morning...:eh?:
I need all of the heat I can get.
Oh, and about making progress, I started at 100+ place, now closing in on #20!!!

Flounder>> Kool, I wish I had 4 comps.... 1st: I don't have the $$$... 2nd: I don't have the room... 3rd: The noise wouldn't be barable (cause they all would be O/Ced AMD's :D)

you could solve 2 by buying a dually board and runing athlon mp processors. :D it would be like two folding rigs in one machine

It is a little loud, especially my main rig with 2 120's, 2 80's, 2 psu fans, 60mm HSF, and northbidge fan...
All of the others are reasonable.
BTW, I am looking at upgrading my Pentium system, I have an extra Duron 750 with HSF, and memory, all I need is a cheap mobo, maybe another ECS K7S5A, that would make all four AMD!

1.3 Athlon @ 1.485 (on an Epox 8KHA)
1.0 Athlon @ 1130 (on an ECS K7S5A)
750 Duron @825 (on a MSI something, KT133 chipset)
200 Pentium Pro @233 (on an ancient Micronics mobo)
The P.Pro will soon be history, I hope, because I have a spare duron that needs a case, once I get a new mobo.
FOLD on!
