It's called Starscape. A few years old, but one of the best space shooters I've ever played. Can't believe I didn't try it sooner. Free on gametap, worth it for this one alone. Even worth the $25 they want at the link above.

oh i've herd of this but not really played it. space shooters are few and far between on PC i noticed, we need more gud uns

Sadly, no idea where to find it these days. It's on abandonware sites, but even Epic Classics isn't selling it. They still have OMF2097 though :p

I will have ot chekc out, I love space shooters.

Only good thing left in SWG was the ability to go blow stuff up in space.

I'll check this out when I get home. I loved the FreeSpace, Wing Commander, and the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series of games.
