is this a good way to put a tec cooler for a cpu ... :mad:

That is the proper order. However remember that you need to keep pressure on the TEC from the cold-plate and block for best cooling.

I'm sorry if I missed something... :confused:

AS5 should be good for the temps you are going to deal with for most TECs. The heavy end sub-zero temps you get with phase change needs a different TIM.

Was there something else you needed answered?
 
how much does tec cost

Depends. Do you mean the TEC or peltier by itself? Depending on where you get it from anywhere from $10-50 depending on wattage and size.

The whole setup to run it? Maybe a couple of hundred. The dedicated power supplies usually run about $120-$150 new. You also need a waterblock with cold plate as well and a large enough radiator/heater core to dump all the heat properly. If you already have a water cooling setup, you can probably do it for about $100-150 if you are careful where you buy your supplies and don't object to buying used.
