Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a HSF or water block that will fit on a GeForce3 and not give up one of my PCI slots. Or at the most just one slot. Thanks.

Thermaltake-Crystal Orb-takes up 1 slot
Thermaltake-Blue Ord-takes up 1 slot
Thermaltake-Orange Orb-heard it doesn't

How does the Orange Orb compare in performance to a Blue or Crystal Orb?

I don't know how they compare, but here's what I can tell you.

Blue Orb (Blorb)- popular, cools well, but takes up a slot-aluminium

Orange Orb- cools well, doesn't take up a slot- aluminium

Crystal Orb- newest orb, keeps your chips very cool, takes up a slot- copper base with nickel plating

Hmmm, crystal ro blue orb looks like the best in terms of materials and noise. But will they easily fit on my card or will I have to mod it a bit.

Just about any Rackmount IU cooler will fit on a GF3

This article is about Radeons but the instructions will help you affix an IU cooler if you go that route.

An IU cooler will decimate any Orb in performance

I also posted this before Arctic Alumina adhesive was available but may be usefull for you to find an IU cooler

They range in price from $9.99-30 (Avoid the Golden ORb low profile IU cooler as it doesnt perform well)

http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35853

PS the Crystal orbs outperorms the Blue and Orange orb, and all these ORbs beat the Titan copper GPU cooler

Orbs Need no modification nor does most 60mmx60mm IU coolers

Blue and Crystal orbs are 15mm in height and IU coolers are generally 24-30 mm in height

Thanks sam, this'll come in handy. And it doesn't matter about the Alumina, I already have a tube of Arctic Silver sitting in my fridge and make myself an fastener, that'd be something to keep my mind off of school in January. Maybe next year I'll watercool it, peltiers are coming to mind.

Thanks again.

Will AS2 survive longer in a fridge?

Thats a question for Nevin as your the first person that I ever heard from that stores it in the fridge. You would think that its hard to apply it when cold

Actually on the the Arctic Silver site they say that eventually silver will settle on to the bottom of the tube, putting it in the fridge prevents this from happening as fast as it does when it's at room temperature. I always let it warm up before applying it anyways.
