The smp client just recently started to hang so I would close it out and restart it and whenever I would restarted this last time the fah at home would come up for a half second and close back down. I even restarted the computer and even reinstalled the smp client and still does it. Is ther anyway to stop it from doing this. I havent changed any settings or anything.

The beta client expired. You have to download the new client and run the installer, if you're using windows (v 5.91 beta 6) or extract the files into the folding directory if you're running Linux (v 6.00 beta 2).

If you're in Windows, loss of network connectivity will cause the SMP client to hang. In windows or linux, system instability will cause the client to hang.

@ChasR- Last time around I removed my current WinSMP installs then ran the installer to replace them. Are you saying we can just overlay the current WinSMP install?

Knowing how flakey installers can be, will it not write a second Uninstall key in the registry? That was my concern last time and it seemed easier to uninstall / reinstall rather than clean up the Uninstall registry key later.

The installer removes the old version automatically. You will have to manually stop the smpd process using task manager prior to running the install program. It often takes three attempts to close it.
