Hey all, I was wondering what Duron OCs well, if they are any different at all. I'm just looking for a cost-efficient way to run my system until I can get enough cash for an XP. :D Well, thanks for the help!

I have 2 Duron 750's that will do 1 gig, the stepping is AKCA, highly recommended.
A buddy also has an 800 AKCA that will do a little over 1 gig.
They all seem to oc well. King of the heap appears to be the 600 with many getting to 1Gig. The 800's also appear to shape well. I think that provided they are burned-in carefully and looked after most will do pretty well.
Tiger, I can be wrong, but the temprature of your cpu is negative?!?!?

I can take my 800 AKCA up to 1150 (if someone will donate a real power supply). AKBA is supposed to be good too.

as you say a real power supply does that mean if your power supply isn that good it could hold you back on your over clock
Bender doubled his 600 to 1200 with water adn 2.3 vcore!!! great job but very extreme!
I would go morgan core but I don't know the good stepping yet.
newegg has em for 47bucks! 1ghz to ....unknown highest I have seen is 1.6ghz. which is pretty sweet.

Mine limited me not in the cpu department but the 5v line department. I needed 2.06v to get to 1150mhz so I had to volt mod my motherboard. The mod raised my core voltage to 2.06v but my cheap s*** power supply couldn't handle the strain and my 5v line dropped to as low as 4.79v, that would in turn lock up my system. It wasn't a direct limit to the cpu but a limit none the less.

can get my duron 700 to 1ghz on buddys iwill kk266 he has a duron 600 at 1ghz both are akca
At nearly 2.1v my duron 800 AKCA "9" will do 1096 on air but with the stock hsf I'm stuck in between 1035-1050 @ 1.95v.

That's correct coolant= -21C CPU=-4C with Prime '95

That almost seems like a waste. Like you should set your voltage to 5v (not a typo) and run the chip at 3.5ghz, then you'd have a temp around 45c - 50c, a temp that many of us air pushers safely do all the time, and an overclock to make intel die in it's tracks!

I don't want to mod the mobo. I generally upgrade every 6 months and use the old mobo to help pay for the new one. The proc is at about its limit now. I have posted and got into Windows at 1160 but its not stable under load. The amazing thing about Durons is that they just seem to get better and better. I have been at this point many times and thought I would not get any more and when pushed after a week or two it delivers.
