OCZ Reaper PC3-8500E?

I purchased the following DDR3 stix (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820227276) from the scrambled egg.

These are supposed to be 10666, but it appears the scrambled pulled one over my eyes. Am I correct?

Where you getting this from?

CPUZ states these stix are 8500E (533), but the package and EVEN the sticker on the chips states it is 10666 (1333 or 667).

Buyer beware! Unless I'm totally goofing on this one.

The memory speed is 666Mhz x2 = 1333Mhz and the peak transfer rate is 10666MB/s.

if it is just CPU-Z saying it is PC3-8500 in the SPD tab then everything is fine. this is no different than PC2-8500 or PC2-9200 DDR2 showing up in the SPD tab as PC2-6400. JEDEC only outlines standards up to a certain frequency, i think it is PC3-10700 or 10666 if you will...might just be up to PC3-8500 too, i don't no, it doesn't matter. either way lots of the DDR3 coming out has PC3-8500 in the SPD tab. it is just programmed in the SPD profile that way so the motherboard will recognize it according to JEDEC standard and will know what to do with it. just like the higher rated DDR2 memory is labeled as PC2-6400 so motherboards can deal with it at BIOS defaults.
