I'm thinking about buying this motherboard, but it has a lot of heatsinks all around the CPU area. I'm wondering which aftermarket sinks like Zalman, Tuniq or Thermalright, people have gotten to fit on this board. Thanks!

Here is a link to the board on Newegg:

I have a zalman on mine. I had to cut some of the plastic base piece off using a dremel in order for it to fit with the northbridge heat pipe/heat sinks. Not hard to do though.

Just curious, what part was plastic? Is it the heatspreaders on the board, or part or the Zalman. Also, what model are you using? 9500 or 9700? Thanks, appreciate your reply

I have a 9700. The plastic piece was on the Zalman's mounting bracket that you attach to the motherboard before you clip the cooler on.

and here's a review of its performance http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2233:

And the rankings http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm

Other coolers that are being used on P5E/maximus include:

Ultima 90
Scythe Ninja
Arctic Freezer 7
TRUE 120
Tuniq 120
Zalman 9700
Kingwin HDT

The bigger coolers really are not good fits in mid towers. It really depends on the case.
