Well, today was a good day in crunching for me. I finally passed Tyrinon for third place and slimm is on the near horizon. :D And eagle, you are still way ahead but I am still catching you. But then there's Nik coming up like a freight train behind me, which will make it hard to stay in third place until I pass slimm. All in all, a bunch of fun and more wu's crunched.

Now if only I had a rich uncle that could will me some upgrade money for the farm and go all quads.

Good work muddocktor

From my perspective:
87 days till I get steamrollered by Nik (unless I slightly better than double my production).
354 days till I get caught by Mud.

I do however have a plan :)

Well I'll share a tiny peek at my plan. I have acquired the following components recently:

Large pile of Cat5E Patch Cables
24 port patch panel times 4
Rack, 6' tall
Switch, 24 port

More information later..... muhahahahahah [/evil laugh]

Hmm, FYI, all my rigs that are crunching are all Servers. LOL? I have yet to add a single workstation in my arsenal. Granted, they are mostly old XP 2400's (what would those RAC at?) but I have about 150 of them? LOL?

You are running Q6600's as servers, and using XP Pro as a server platform??

I see 10 of them in your stable. If they were all performing at full capacity...... http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=8717017&show_all=0&sort=expavg_credit

Oops i mis spoke... there are some graphics work stations... that run quads. Point is, all my 'corporate' workstations have not had SETI installed yet. Everything I have NOW is server and random stuff.

Nik, Id imagine those 2400+s would get somewhere around 300 RAC each.. I havent run my 2000+ oc'd to 2.2ghz for a long time, so Im slightly guessing here. Either way, 300*150=yummy yummy.

Grats Mudd, keep up the crunch :D youll be in 3rd place in no time :)

Eagle, Im getting frisky just thinking about what you could do with all that gear :D updates!

How many rigs can you stick in the rack eagle? 24 1U's lol? :D

I say take a Saturday and fire as many of 'em up as possible nikh, 6PM to 8AM run time and you should be good :D

  Way to go muddocktor!!!

Looks like you'll make it to 2nd just before Nik gets there so I think you'll keep 3rd place for quite awhile.
But 2nd will be short-lived before Nik comes rocketing by.

No need to dwell on the future, though - enjoy your stardom for now!!! :D :bday:

@ eaglescouter - 6' rack, huh? Hmmm ... ;)

Thanks guys, I'm having a blast doing this. And Nik, you need to get some crunching action going on all those AXP 2400 systems. If they will do 200-300 RAC/day, that would be some awesome cumulative RAC.

And eagle, you might have a plan but I don't plan to sit by the wayside myself. There are upgrades coming in the future for me too. Not in total number of machines crunching, but in the hardware that I will upgrade to. I really can't afford to run more than 7 desktop machines at the house because of cooling concerns but I still have 1 old 754 system that I plan to replace and possibly the 2 DC AMD machines too. And when I get back in from the rig this time it will be time to transplant a new X38-DQ6 board into my quad system as the P5WDH board I have it in just doesn't handle overclocking quads well and I should be able to get much more performance out of it with the new board.
