Network Drops During FileTransfer.

I am trying to back up data onto my dad's computer via the Network... After about 1.5gig's of data goes through the network drops.

Does anybody know why this is?

My computer

ecs p4m800-m7
P4 @ 3121mhz
1gb memory

His computer

Foxconn V400ADBL
1100+ @ 1100mhz
512mb memory


The ISR's (have tried two of them!!!)

WRT54G (linksys)
and
Belkin Wireless G+

Do you live in a city? Near other people? I would advise looking at Netstumbler to see who is using what channel and avoid those.

Im doing it all via a ethernet

and the only other wireless networks in the area are on 12... were on 4

both onboard but... I think i figured it out.... I have his hdd directly connected to my mobo now to transfer the files but I believe it is because his hdd can't keep up his is ata100 i believe and mine is sata1.5 so i backed up the network to the point of failure :)
