View Full Version : How do i get my Comp to play through my 5.1 surrond sound

i have a pioneer 5.1 surround sound DVD player and want to play my computer through this but how how would i go about it?

if any one is able to give me Info on what i need to buy to be able to do this then it would be much appreciated!!

Looks like you motherboard has a coaxial digital output. If your 5.1 receiver has a coaxial input you could connect them with a simple RCA cable.

Did you mean a 5.1 home theater receiver/dvd player like the HTZ-370DV?

If so, you need to decide whether you want to use analog or digital interconnects. You can use a stereo to RCA splitter to connect the analog out from your sound card to the RCA inputs of the receiver. Or if it's digital, you need to find out which type of digital it has and get the appropriate interconnect.

hey yeah it worked took some time to figure out which port i plug it ion to on my comp as there is like 8 ports and theres like 10 on my 5.1 surround systems but yeah its working mint with Call Of Duty 4 so realistic. but yeah thanks guys for the posts!!!!
