I get the same thing with my 1800/msi mobo. But it runs rock stable, and I've double checked case temp with two thermometers: an indoor/outdoor and an infrared. Both were +- 1c at most.
So I think its just a sensor calibration or something. Either way, I am not worried about it since it is stable- I just watch for variations.

yeah it just seemed wierd since it usually over by about 4 or 5 degrees but i have this huge heat sink and fan on it and it isnt like my tbird 1200 so i guess ill be fine cause it is rock stable

It would be easier to be scientific if we knew what HSF you're using. With that number you would have to have a very cold anbient temp with a very low c/w HSFcombo. That is not a realistic air cooling temp. It is at least 8 to 10C too low and thats being real conservative.

PC alert is VERY accurate. I have done massive testing to make sure.

As I type:
XP 1800- 1.533@1725 33c case and 34c cpu under load (Seti@Home)
Always within 1 or 2 degrees, one way or the other.
ThermoEngine (CHEAPO) heatsink with 7000 rpm Delta. Case closed.
Another thread that needs to be at the Cooling Forums:rolleyes:
