I am interested in buying this mobo. Now I was wondering (newbie here) I want firewire port, which this mobo does not support, can I buy a firewire PCI card and that way have that functionality?

Also, I want to do a RAID 0 (I believe this will be good for games) so I need to buy a RAID controller PCI card as well, is this correct?

Given that I will also need a sound card, that is it, all 3 PCI slots filed, is that OK? I don't see why I would want anything more.

board supports raid so I don't think you need pci raid controller card.

If its the P35-DS3R then it can do matrix raid 0/1/5.

A firewire pci card shouldnt cost much so u should be ok.

you will need to get a firewire card but the mobo has excellent raid features especially for its price
