I have the Microsoft intellimouse optical. I've only had it maybe a year. I've had plenty of mouse balls wear out, but enver had the lieft click button wear out. It only clicks once then you have to take a fingernail to pull it up so you can click again. Can it be fixed or am I going to have to buy another? Grumble grumble...I hate unplanned expenses  I am trying to get a 3rd system setup and an extra $50 is not somethign I can really afford after buying parts for the third system today.

Ok my Dad "fixed" it.
he came in and picked it up and slapped the bottom and now the clicker works. Go figure the old "if it don't work hit it" still aplies to the technology age :D

lol you posted while I was reading (should've finished the post I started before getting up)....you call M$ and read them the serial number off the bottom, and if the number show's it's still under warranty...they send you a new one.

well even though you've "fixed" it as you say I'd be sure and just take it apart and look at the buttons, just take them off and then put em back again
Why try messing with it if it works good? he might break it trying to look at it, then he' ll have to wait for a new mouse, and if its not still under warranty he' ll have to spend $50 because he just looked at it.

I'm of the opinion "If it ain't broken don't fix it"
If it messes up again I might take it apart...if I can figure out how..it's got no screws at all..looks like it snaps together. If it does messup again I'll likely just call M$ and if it isn't under warranty then I tear it open and see what makes it tic.
