I bought a d-link dgl 4500 a couple of months ago (pretty much as soon as it came out) and I paired it with an Atheros based b/g/n mini pci card in my laptop. For the most part its great, I get real world 1.6mpbs download speeds (my router being in my basement, and my laptop being on the second floor). But recently I've noticed a reoccurring problem with the dgl-4500. If I leave my bitorrent client to seed for more than an hour, I lose my internet connection and then I usually have to restart (after the restart everything is fine). I've gone into the router, opened the appropriate ports and even added it as a special application but I still get this problem. Any ideas or fixes?

Edit: I have the latest 1.02 firmware for the router and the latest Atheros drivers

I got dir655, similar to dgl4500 minus lcd and 5.0ghz n band, it restarts by itself with heavy usuage. Though does not lock up or needs computer reboot. I disabled qos which I think it helped but it did not slove problem.

Some new problems with the old problems unresolved, first off IRC doesn't work (I use MIRC) and second my ftp client has problems connecting to private ftp sites (but works fine without the router). I added my ftp application in the special gaming section and opened ports 21 for both TCP/UDP and still no luck. Any suggestions?
