I guess everybody missed the huge 1.5TB HDD thread. None of you will get the item. It will be canceled in the next 3-4 days.

the only time that dell didnt cancel that I can remember, for deals that are obvious price mistakes, was about a year and a half ago for the 2007wfp. Ever since they always cancel and I seem to see these crazy price mistakes at least twice a month

I'm sure it will be canceled. I ordered a Dell Axim that was marked way way down by mistake a few years ago, and they simply canceled the order rather than honor their mistake.

But that's Dell for you. Does anyone expect anything different?

Seriously, how can they make this many mistakes?

Shouldn't they have someone QUADRUPLE checking prices now??!?!?

probably do it to get people to visit their site. but say its an oopsie.

probably do it to get people to visit their site. but say its an oopsie. The only problem is, they do this too much and people are not going to buy anything from their site because they could just cancel it.

I for one am one of those people, I shall reconsider purchasing anything from them in the future. They have done this too many times.

Dell is one of those companies that usually way overprices their products, you'd think they could manage to do the right thing at least once in a while and honor their mistake. I'm sure they have to be lawfully bound in some way to honor an advertised price. I'd look into it.

They are not lawfully bound.

Go look at their terms and conditions.

They make it plain that they are not responsible for the pricing listed on their website. It makes me wonder... Who is responsible for the content on Dell's website, if not Dell? I think terran2k had a good point. Smells like bait and switch, to me.

My god, someone at Dell needs to be fired NOW. First the eBay coupons (1 x 2GB DDR2-667 SODIMM sticks for like $7 shipped), then the 1.5TB external, now this...

MEMO TO PEOPLE WHO PURCHASE DELL ITEMS THAT CLEARLY EXHIBIT SIGNS OF A PRICE MISTAKE

Don't buy it! Three things will happen when you do:

You will have $XX of your dollars frozen for a certain period of time.
You will be upset that you didn't get the item.
If Dell is doing this on purpose, this will give them more justification to continue.

Smells all too familiar of the 8800GT fiasco that happened a little bit ago...

Wel well well .... good old Dell cancels again (nothing new and expected)

Email from this morning :

Dear Dell Customer,

Thank you for your recent order.

We regret that a pricing error recently occurred for the 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive for XPS M1330. The price was mistakenly listed as $11.99, when the actual price is $115.99. As a result of the misprint, we are cancelling orders generated at the incorrect price.

As you know, we indicate on our web pages, catalogues, and advertising that Dell reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing and other errors.

We regret our pricing error, and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dell strives to make your experience with us a pleasant one. Please be assured that we are working hard to avoid similar issues.

We welcome you to visit our website at www.dell.com or call us at 1-800-999-3355 to place a new order at the correct price.

Thank you for choosing Dell.

They must have a ****ing deal with the cell phone companies to generate air time usage. They called me with a recording on my cell phone. What a joke. Not that I expected them to honor anything on their site.
