Stole this from XS, but it looked pretty good so I thought it was worth sharing.

For someone wanting to upgrade cooling, but for half the price, maybe even less (after $10 MIR), than a TRUE and performance right up there with it, according to the testing done over at Frosty Tech, this certainly looks worthy of consideration. Keep in mind that the review appears to be the same cooler, but under a different name...is it a Sears or a Whirlpool or is it a Maytag...you know how that "one guy makes it and five sell it" thing works.

I know that this isn't a common name and until I read the review, I couldn't have told you a thing about it, but based on the review results, this certainly looks like a cooler worth looking at...performs very well and exceptionally quiet for those that might be into that kind of thing.

Cost is $34, plus shipping is about $5, but with the $10 MIR it really comes to only $29. If you combine it with something else, like that good deal on the Abit IP35-E that is the topic of another Cyber Deals thread, then the add'l shipping is only a couple of bucks.

The Abit and this cooler, shipped and after $40 in MIR comes to just under $93...not a bad start to a new "budget" E8400 system, in my opinion.

Anyways...posted by gundamit at XS.

Kingwin RVT-12025 (Xigmatek HDT-S1283) $24 after $10 rebate
Looks like Kingwin is retailing theXigmatek HDT-S1283 (http://www.xigmatek.com/product/air-hdts1283.php) as their own RVT-12025 (http://www.kingwin.com/product_pages/rvt12025.asp). The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 got a great review at FrostyTech (http://frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2233)and Spawn32 has it listed as one of the top air coolers.

Right now Kingwin has a$10 rebate (http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForNewegg/rebate/SH/Kingwin2MIRsJan24Feb1408jh28.pdf)which brings the price down to $24 plus shipping and handling if you pick it up from NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835124019). If you're not a rebate fan you can pick it up from Directron for $30 plus shipping - no tax (http://www.directron.com/rvt12025.html).

The sink performs almost as well as the TRUE (actually per the Frosty Tech review it performed better, but I think that they might have crossed up the TR Ultra and the Extreme's results), costs at least half as much after the rebate and includes a fan for that price. Per the review, it performed better than a Tuniq Tower, the Ninja or the Infinity, as well...and it is quiet, too. :)

May not be the one to buy if you are looking for the absolute highest clocks, but if you are wanting something significantly better than the stock sinks and not break the bank, then it looks like a pretty decent deal to me.

May not be "burning hot", but certainly decent in my book.

I see that you've changed your tune since your original post (I wondered if your original "how", instead of "now" was a typo or not). Then I figured you were just giving me a hard time for the fun of it. :)

Too bad it ends tomorrow, but then again, it doesn't appear that anyone is really interested, either.

I'm kinda curious about those 8mm heatpipes directly on the IHS, so I might just have to grab one for myself and compare it against some of the others that I have.
