I recently tried the 7v mod with my black label delta 38cfm fan. And damn it made a big difference in noise. But now I'm worried about the cfm that comes out. I heard it only raises your temps by 1-2 degrees. Can anyone verify this? I'm only going from 600 celly to 1ghz. Will this suffice? I know about the rheostat but that could be on my next agenda.

I did the 7v mod to my delta 38 on my FOP and the temps only raised about 2-4c
we need to know what hs you are using to tell you if it will work with your oc celly

Well you can tell if your temps have gone up, you can always watch the temps as you run this fan at a lower speed.

Well, with the Alpha Pep66 & Delta38 @7v my old Cellie 600 cB0 was Rock Stable @900Mhz 1.85v, and now I'm using the same HS/Fan with the Cellie 900 cD0 @1.123Ghz 1.75v still Rock Stable, the max temp @full load is 40 degree C with an ambient temp of 20 C.
I too did the 7v thingy on my 68cfm delta..
I didn't feel that it was pushing enough air
at that speed so i went to radioshack and
bought a 3w rheostat, it was pretty easy
to install and i can just dial in how loud I
want my fan.

Tycho - I thought after the 7v mod you wouldn't need a rheostat. Because since your already at 7v and you can only dial down the fan speed from 7v which isn't good since already 7v there is no noise.

Point being tho that with a rheostat you can adjust the voltage on the fly to give you the noise or performance level you need. A rheostat is a much better solution than the 7v mod because it's variable, not fixed.
Plus switches look cool on your pc. Chicks dig that stuff. (no really!..... er)
