I am a big guy between a B and C aeron would be about right, and I want to have a chair that supports good posture.

So far I see the various chairs from herman miller and I think some thing like that is what I need but spending 600 to 1200 on a chair is just blowing my mind.

At that price just buy a bunch of Staples leather chairs, and every 2 years swap in a new one.

I used to work for EDS, co-located with GMAC. When we moved to the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit, the offices were completely gutted and renovated. No expense was spared. The desk I was assigned to was a high-tech infinitely adjustable one and it included one of those lavishly expensive Aeron chairs. I'll go on record as saying it was one of the worst chairs I've ever had to work in! I hated it. However, I was in the minority as several of my coworkers enjoyed theirs.

Still, for the price I wouldn't say they are worth it. These chairs are for the upper class, people that have so much money they couldn't possibly spend it all. You can go to your local office supply store and find a chair with superior comfort levels for sub-$200.

Yeah I know they are expensive, I dont mind so much about the cost, if the chair helps me have good posture, and its a one time purchase.

The chair I have now was around $100 but its just become very uncomfortable and it actually hurts to sit in for long periods of time, it was from ikea I think, and its about 7 years old, I could have replaced it like 4 years ago but I never bothered.

Dude, IKEA is ftw, I got an amazing chair from them for 120 bucks. It is like a 3 function chair. Pwns all chairs.

I love those mesh chairs. I've sat in several, and I've loved them all. The high-end ones seem to be build sturdier and have more adjustable options. However, I have tried some of the cheaper knock-offs at Office Max and Office Depot and found them to be very good as well, and under $200. The one I like best has a head rest as well, but I can't remember which store I found that one.

I went to staples and tried out the chairs until I found one I liked. I ended up paying $75, and it's lasted me 4+ years. Everyone's body is different, and I really think you need to try them out before you buy them to find a good one. I would have spent $200+ on the chair, but I actually liked the $75 chair the best.

I spent 150$ on a really large leather chair, and that thing was a beast, loved it to death. But sadly the hydraulics went out on it. So time to go find a new chair /sad

But I would have to agree, just go try out some chairs at stables, office max, etc. You will find one you like pretty easily. Unless you have some super sensitve ass or something

spent $100 on a chair normally $140 at staples 5 years ago. Endured countless nights of gaming till dawn. Still going strong.

Go to Target/Walmart and get a leather chair from there.

Unless you have back problems, a chair is a chair :)

Posture chairs don't really do much because unless your sitting back watching something, you will always lean over to play games etc.

actually the aeron has forward tilt so it supports your back when you lean forward.

I agree that a chair is a chair.
But dont agree with your line which you said.
"Unless you have back problems"
and
Posture chairs don't really do much:bang head

If you have to sit for while any chair is good but if you have to sit for long time you will be needing is comfortable chair.
Will you agree to go for hair cut to that place which dont offer you comfortable chair to sit.

Sitting on posture chair dont mean that one have back problems, and if someone have back problem he will choose chair referred by medical practitioner. Posture chair makes one sit comfortably, just sit there then you will feel.:)

By the way you may love any chair, however i love comfortable chair especially reclining chairs.
