Hi guys,
I just got NFS Pro Street, the graphics look ok to me, the handling is aweful with a keyboard but I'll survive that, but what I do hate is having 60-75fps and still having the game stutter on me like crazy. I am pretty certain BOINC is turned off, so that can't be it, but I really don't know what's causing it, even using lower settings won't fix it
so does anybody know how to fix this?
perhaps drivers ? there is no reason at all it should be doing that "hardware wise".

Do you have hard drive seeks when it stutters?

yes sometimes, but now after a restart it is far less frequent, but still the game looks like it's going 20fps even though it's putting out 70
defragmentation time?

Sound like something was running in the background. You don't have VMWare installed by any chance do you?

Yeah check and see what is running in the background, make sure every non-essential thing is closed and kill all non-essential processes then test again. If it doesn't lag it's likely a program running in the background that is causing it to stutter.

I am defragmenting atm, even though the windows thing said it wasn't needed, man I need to get partition magic
