Not even sure if this thread belongs here, but here I go.

Looking for some decent, half arsed, (maybe full arsed) speakers w/ sub. Would definitely like the sub + 4 satellite setup if possible. Looking to spend no more than $150CDN (err, $95US).

I've read about the FPS2000, doesn't look like a good buy. I'm somewhat eyeing on the Altec Lansing ACS54.

From what I've read at Epinions.com Boston Accoustics has the best 4.1 system for $99.50 at Best Buy.

i got the cambridge sound works which are fairly decent but even better for the price- about 40 bucks. I know you probably won't get them but they are pretty good for a quicky sound system. But mostly I just use headphones so I won't hear all my case fans and because i'm usually at lan parties.

I have seen and heard a great deal of the Altec Lansing range and they all are exceptionaly good imho. Not only do they generally sound crisp, clear and defined but they do have a good solid build quality.
Obviously the greater money can obtain you a better quality product, however if you can find a Altec Lansing product within your price range, they are well worth a look.

my buddy bought the 5 piece altecs lansenings...

I have the 3 piece..

both of us are very happy, u'd be amazed how much output they have for being so small... especially bass, they have a wooden sub box so it sounds solid..

Yes. That is the model I had my eye on. If nothing else tickles my fancy, Altec Lansing I go :D

I've also heard that the monsoons aren't very good.

i got the Creative DTT3500 Digital 5.1 Speaker setup, costs around £200 but has 5 speakers a meaty sub and a Digital decoder, so no need to spend extra on a decent soundcard :D

WEll if you can scrape up a few more bucks, i would def. go for the Logitech Z-560s. 4.1 surround, with 400 watts. They are the same, if not better than the Klipsch 4.1s, but cost over 160 dollars less. I have them and love them to peices :)

I don't mind to scrape in a few extra dollars for something better, but I've got other costs I need to put down for my system. I'll check out your suggestions. Thanks :D
