Just got a visiontek geforce 2 mx400 64mb, need some help.

I have gotten the core speed to 220, but the memory dont seem to want to go eve nto 175. Defaults on this card were 175, 166.That was using powerstrip. Anything i can do? I also have not yet added a heatsink/fan to the gpu.

I am running the 23.11 detonators.

Wow..........Im pretty impressed by this card. I just installed win2k.....i perfer it over anything because of its stability. The geforce 2 mx400 really is a speed demon in 2k. I installed and ran quake3 and i never go lower than 35fps @ 1024x768x32 everything max. Dont forget im running a celeron 266 @ 424 105 fsb....only 64mb (running win2k and it requires 64mb) CAS 3-3-3 and a ABIT BF6. Im pretty amazed by this card.

Update on the overclocking :

Core only goes to 217 without artifacts.
Default is 175.

Mem only goes to 168 LoL without artifacts.
Default is 166.

I dont yet have a heatsink/fan on the gpu.

Wow, thats a great thread. Thanx alot for that! I kno that because i have 6ns ram it is the limiting factor, but why am i limited to 168 without artifacts? I think tomorrow i am going to get a couple heatsinks, 1 for the back of the card, and one for the gpu.

Will this help my ram o/c at all? Also where might i find that bios update ambient_fiction was talking about?
