1st question:
I have an HP cd-writer dvd combo 9900 series. I pulled it from one of the systems on my network, and placed it in my main system (1800+/8k7a+/2 40's RAID-0) It will not read any CD's, and I've tried loads of regular CD's, burnt CD's, etc... I'm running XP-pro. Is there a diagnostic utility out there that I can run to ensure that the problem is with the drive, and not the mobo? I'm looking for a solution I can try without putting the thing back in another system;)
2nd question:
I "shared" a cd-drive on one of my networked computers, and installed MAX Payne. The install went fine, but when it came time to play it wouldn't read across the network to get the data, it wanted the local drive. Any ideas on how to get it to work across my LAN? I know I've done this a while back, but not with this game.
Any suggestions are greatly 'preciated.
Thanks!;)
I contacted HP for drivers, and they were of no help at all, so I'm using the only drivers I could find which are ME.
