I am running windows 2000 prof on a luckystar slot a with a 750 Athlon and a GeForce 2 GTS 32 meg. my problem is that my video card, sound card, nic card , and usb all run on IRQ 11.is there a way to change them?when I get into a good fire fight in a game online I get the blue screen of death and it tells me irqs equal to or less than and does a memory dump. windows 2000 will not let me just go in like 98 did and move irqs these are all locked and I've even gone so far as to go to my bios and disable my comports and and lpt2 to free up some reserved irqs the irqs are open now but windows will not use then. also I separated all my cards by at least one slot eg vid card agp skipped the PCI under it then installed my nic then skipped 2 PCI slots and installed my nic but I still have them all sharing . please help if you can I just built this thing to get away from a lock prob in my last but it looks like the IRQ share is my prob

thanks
Paul

this should probably be in the "OS" catagory, but anyway.. :D

tons and tons of people are having this problem with win2k and xp. i believe it has to do with acpi within windows [power management stuff i believe]. i had the same problem, until i went into my bios and reserved irq 11. upon reboot, windows shuffled things around a little bit for me. i still have a couple items sharing irq's, but nothing near as drastic as before. hope this helps

irq 11 is reserved by default so i tried to disable it but no luck they all still share irq 11 . can i go in under admin and force the irq changes?

Shutlle AK31 v3.1

Leadtek GF2 Ti, SIIG USB controller card, onboard audio, and Realtek Nic are all on IRQ 11, and windows 2000 won't let me manually assign the IRQ's. The USB card is new, and b4 I installed it the other 3 devices above were sharing IRQ 11 with no apparent conflicts. Now with USB card installed, my 3dmark2k1 score has plummeted by 1200 points!!! My bios lets me reserve irq's so I'll try to reserve irq 11 and see if that helps. I've already tried rearranging my PCI cards but they still all use IRQ 11. Why doesn't Win 2k let me manually adjust these resources? IRQ's 5 and 7 are free, and I think I could disable a PS/2 and a com port to free up more IRQ's.

I just want to get my 3dmark score back up to where it should be.

Try this. Go to device manager, under computer it will say acpi compliant, right click on it select properties go to update driver and select standard pc that should fix the IRQ sharing. After doing this your pc may not shutdown by itself, I get the screen telling me it is safe to turn my computer off, not a big deal since I never turn it off.
