Actually is a 200W for MATX....
but do u think it can manage the following stuff

AMD XP 1600+
MSI 6382(KT266 MATX Hong Kong Only, DDR)
Samsung 256MB DDR x 1
ATI Radeon 7500
Creative SB Live DE 5.1
LAN Card
Pionner DVD 16x
Floppy

If not..., how much WATTS for a MATX do u think is ENOUGH??

eh... i have the understanding that all amd xp processors want at least a 300 watt ps

I wound not feel comfortable with any power supply below 300 watt for today's Athlon systems. Try to skimp on it and you'll have yourself a dead powersupply and mabye even more. I had a 250watt on a athlon system. It blew out within a hour of use.

I would get a decent 400 watt since they don't cost much more than a 300 or 350. At first I was thinking you were talking about the amount of heat a cpu was generating. 200 watts yeah thats a lot but I would be one to do it.

On there website.. You can run a AMD As low as like 135.... With a 1600+ I Wouldnt run it lower then 185, If you have windows and everyting installed, Disconnect EVERYTHING, DVD, Floppy, Fans, Everything....

Check on there website about powersupplies......Probably........Yeah, i'd say it would......Just dont run it at 200 watts overclocked.

yes it will run with a 200w psu. i highly doubt if you have a gpu thats of high performance to add to it.

I have a two dedicated folding boxes that run Duron 1.6's that are both on 200w PS's if that helps any.

They're not connected to anything, have built in NIC's, and are only connected through the LAN if that helps any...

It might work ok, as long as you dont push it too far. There arent any really high powered devices there.

I wouldn't build a system with anything less than a good quaility 300W PSU myself. Leaves a little room for expansion as well.

It all boils down to the manufacturer / model of the powersupply. People have been running fx55 processors with a 6800 ultra in the shuttle SN95G5 with it's 240w powersupply and I still did'nt here of anyone having problems. I would'nt try the same with a qtec...

my fully loaded hp a220n has a 250 watt power supply, my buddy brought me a box of parts one day, and i built a complete duron 1.6 system, useing a 95 watt p2 psu for him, and it ran! 2 hdds, a cdrw, cdrom, floppy, and a couple of fans, as far as i know its still going, and i put it together in the summer.

Man, i have an FSP 250w MATX psu. The thing amazes me. It will push alot of equipment. If it's a good quality MATX psu then it may be fine. IF it's some generic name i wouldn't even try.

my old compact handled a Gt two hard drives, two optical, and a duron 750mhz. So, I'd say it all depends on the PSU, but liek everyone has said 300W or better is bexst.

like I said, go cheap on a psu and your taking a gamble. I have had psus die on me, lost a 350w generic when I pushed my xp2100 to 2.3GHz my 12v rail dropped lower and lower than I last saw it at 11.3 then it shut off and never booted again. lucky me only the psu died

Yeah, if it's a quality PSU you're probably ok. Definitely no overclocking with a system like that though. If I were you, I might see if I could run the CPU at below stock voltages, just to be safe.

I'd feel better with 250W or above. You are cutting it rather close there.
