Supreme FX II, hooking up stereo

ok, so my last sound card just had one audio out port. This new sound card that came with my Asus Maximus Formula mobo has 2, Rear Speaker out (black) and Side Speaker out (grey). I always hooked up my pc to my stereo. But ive tried all the ports and its not working. What is wrong?

If you are running in stereo only. Then you still use the green port.

Some audio cards move away from "the norm" (cant call it a standard I dont think) but general for 2channel audio green is audio out, and pink is mic in, blue is line-in.

The black and grey ports are for running 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. I assume that the orange port would then be the LFE channel.

it was working fine with my headphones, then i took out my headphones and plugged in my stereo, which should work. Then this auto-detect thing came up and messed it all up. now the headphones dont even work anymore. whats wrong with this?

i finally got it working.....well i uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and everything again. But this time when it was working i disabled the auto detect before anything else.
