I've been hearing alot of good and bad reviews about Crysis. And I wanted to get a few opinions I can trust. How is the game-play style, do you run around blow everything up or overly cautious and hope not to run into an ambush? I hear graphic wise it is beautiful but im looking for more opinions on game-play not graphic wise. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks guys and gals

i bought the game and love it, yes the graphics are beautifull,
the game play, you car run around and plow up and distroy everything you see pretty much :D which is probably why im on the first level after 2 weeks lol haha

also i finde myself when actually playing the game i do move slowly and sneak around,
the maps are absolutally HUGE which is one of my favorit things in a game.

a buddy of mine came over and he doesnt play games that often and he saw me playing it so he went from my house to the store and bought it, and hasnt stopped playing it for the last week.
2 or 3 in the morning most nights

the map generator is an AWSOM and amazing feature, (if you can figure out how to use it) it is the same generator that EA uses i believe VERRY advanced

over all i would recomend it 100%

One of the biggest issues is I work 12 hour shifts and I dont have a huge amount of time to play so when I get tired and I dont want to play anymore for that day can I just hit say the F7 key and save it and put it away for the day? and also how is the story line, is it Indepth and pulls you in?

honestly i think the game was created with pure visuals in mind and not gameplay. It was surprisingly short and the ai was terrible (contrary to all the hype about the ai being awesome). You do have a choice of either being really stealthy or run and gun which is nice, but the terrible ai kind of ruins this.

The graphics are great like you have heard millions of times before and the storyline was good enough to keep me interested in what was going to happen next. Hopefully they can clear up the ai issues in the next game. Im definitely wondering whats gonna happen next.

EDIT
about the ai just search youtube for crysis ai. These are just some of the funnies ones to me.

The single player game is wonderful. You can play it however you want. If you want to play a cautious stealth mode you can. If you want to run in, guns blazing, then you can. I like a combination of both styles myself (contrary to what's been said, though, you can't go ANYWHERE you want to go. I was able to make it to one improbable spot and was told I had "left the zone" and that the game would end if I didn't make it back into the play area).

Multiplayer absolutely sucks. But the single player campaign is very nice.

The ai basically runs around a lot, will take cover on the wrong side of obstacles so u can easily shoot em, they will walk off cliffs, drive a boat onto land and sit there. Sometimes you can even unload a clip into them and they will just convulse and not get hurt. :bang head

So the AI is kind of buggy at best. What about weapons and abilites?

well its kinda halo-esque . You can only carry around 2 weapons not including your ever handy pistol but the scar-l is the main weapon you start out with and well you wont use it that much because none of the enemies you kill have ammo for it. I found myself using the fy71 for most of the game. There are some real fun weapons though, you should check the website for info on them. The abilities make the game interesting. Its real funny in multiplayer when you knock someone out with your strength mod on, which you'll see if and when you purchase the game. The speed ability is pretty straightforward you move faster, and sprint faster. the cloak is kinda like predator, when you fire a single shot you drain all your energy to maintain the cloak, and it depletes also the faster you move. Armor is what it is...armor

Finally a statement by Rainless that I can agree with. :D

People underestimate the gameplay aspect of Crysis because if you want to play it like a generic fps you can (not on the hardest difficulty setting though) but it allows for so much more. The nanosuit is so well integrated into the game many people just don't realise what an impact it has on the gameplay. It's far superior to COD4 or GOW for example.

You got an hour?

1. It's slow
2. It's boring.
3. The maps are very large
4. So large it's hard to find people to shoot.
5. When you do shoot them... you don't care.
6. Some bizarre point system for choosing weapons.
7. There's more!

You guys keep harshing on the multiplayer part of crysis, but also you are only talking of the Power Struggle. There is another mode you can play which is death match, and it is actually pretty fun. I enjoy the death match part, but do agree power struggle is to big and complicated.

Also, some of you guys talk about the AI being dumb, granted they are not as smart as a person, there not entirely stupid, aside from some of the bugs. But Ive found them to react fairly smartly. They will have some units distract you while others flank around behind you, they call in reinforcements, they use cover to decent effect, and they are usually fairly inquisitive to things they think they see or hear, they will try and find you when your cloaked, and if they see your shadow will start firing.

So to me, Crysis I think is a actually pretty well done game. The story is pretty interesting, keeps you interested, gameplay has so many ways to play, youll play it through at least 6 times, once again, graphics are just incredible. So its definetly worth it, very fun game, and I cant wait for the sequel.

I just finished crysis and all I can say is it's not FarCry. Fun, kinda, graphically intense, but I thought the first 2/3 rather repetitious. And nothing like the trigens. I still have FArCry loaded and Crysis isn't. 'nuff said.

Found STALKER on STEAM for $19 and have enjoyed it much more. Open gameplay and it appears all the initial bugs are fixed. I've only had one crash and that might've been something else. the critters are scarier and more interaction with characters than crysis.

7. There's more!

Do I want to know the more part???? From what the Multiplayer sounds like its a big map with alot of people camping...now normally Im the type to wait in a spot and snipe people, is that what most people do use the cloaking device. and what do you mean you hit them....you dont care?? Also another question since im deployed im going to attempt to run this game off my laptop and since I cant get any game specs off of game sites I was wondering if some one could tell me how it will run. Currently im using a Dell XPS M1530 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM and a 128Mb Nvidia 8800M Video Card, Right now I'm not overly concerned with running on the highest settings due to my laptop not being my gaming rig(that will be built after I get back from here.). I just wanna know if I run it on this system will it be choppy when the gun fights get blazing hot or will it be reletivly smooth???

I like the game a lot and think the game play is good....but the game is not selling well and should be heavily discounted soon so if you can, wait.

Too bad this game lacks coop mode. Although I think there is a mod in the works.

I can't imagine how you could run it on that. Maybe with all the graphics settings on "low" or "very low". It's really not a laptop-friendly game. I mean 128MB... by contrast I have 640 megs... Most people have 512MB. You can probably get away with running it on medium with a 256MB 8600GTS in XP.

But no... I don't think that laptop is going to cut it.
