Does anyone know a good NIC to OC alot? My FSB wont get any higher then 142...but it could also be my RAM. Let me know what NIC you are using in your PCI or ACR slot, and how high your FSB is.
My Dlink NIC from wal-mart was ok when I had the FSB at 179 on my Epox 8K7A. I had to disable DMA for my hard drive but everything else was great at that speed. If your not going much over 145 just about any card should be fine.

Compusa $14 pci.
I've got two of em, one runs at any fsb I can throw at it, other one acts up a lot lower.
The 3coms and the Intel I have take anything and come back for more!
If I want guaranteed performance and dependability though, I'll go with 3Com every time.
This may sound like a stupid question, but What happens when the NIC doesn't like the o'c FSB?
(I always believe in one ounce of prevention...:p )

I start getting network errors, or I can't connect at all.

Why not just remove the nic and see if you can go higher?
Never jump to conclusions unless you just want new parts anyway, the last person I helped who couldn't get over 140mhz it was his ide cable.
142mhz is only a 2.2mhz overclock on the pci bus.

Linksys model NC100. I've hit 48Mhz FSB with that sucker (accidentally, but all the same).
