Ok so this is my 2nd OCZ DDR Booster now, and neither of them have worked :(

Makes me think that its me and not the boosters, but.......its on 2 different mobos and from 2 different people. Both boosters are used.

It seems pretty damn straightforward. Booster in DIMM slot. Blue power to blue, yellow power to yellow, plug into power supply.

Ive checked the compatability list (WAY before I ever bought one) and my boards are 100% compatable. Board #1 is a P4C800 Deluxe, and Board #2 is a P4C800-E Deluxe.

When I plug everything in and power up, I get nada. Nothing. No LEDs on the booster are lighting up, but the computer works 100% normal and OCs normal in every way other than the DDR booster being dead.

Ive tried it in different DIMM slots, and nothing. Nada.

Here are the pictures of how I had it setup. Note, this is a mockup and not a true running rig (there is no CPU in this mobo at the moment). Also of note is I am using a 24pin power supply but the s478 series has a 20 pin ATX power connector on the board, so there is an extra connector in there in case it looks "funny".

Am I just unlucky and I have 2 dead boosters? I cant see any on/off switch......

Any advice appreciated TY!

The OCZ Booster requires a 20-Pin ATX connector and will not work with power supplies that have 24-Pin connectors

Thx for the reply.

I have a 20 pin power connector, and I will try it but I cannot see how that would matter if I am using a 24/20 adaptor.

I assume that statement means that you shouldnt try to "make" a 24 pin power supply fit the 20 pin adaptor, but who really knows if I had the answer I would be asking for help :P

Ill give it a whirl. Any additional ideas appreciate as well.

TY!

Does your PSU have all the negative rails? The device requires those.

I believe so, but not 100% certain. Corsair HX620W. Ill check it out.

Anything new here?

Have you gotten this resolved, or at least figured out the problem?

Your PSU most likely has no -5V rail and that is why you're not seeing anything on the LED screen. The booster is still working and you can use a DMM to check the voltage off any of the mostfets.

To be honest, I have not even looked at it yet. I got an 8800 GTS G92 about 1 week ago, and its kind-of sidetracked me for a bit :D

I planned on setting up my s478 bench setup again tonight, but I got my new custom "Navig Bench Station" in today, put that together. Put the s775 setup in the station, and......well got sidetracked benching my GTS again hehehe.

Ill prob just start off using the same PSU and checking Vdimm on the FET legs, and if it seems to be working hook up another PSU that I am absolutely certain has the correct rail to check the LED.

:D

Not having a -5V rail will cause the DDR Booster to not display a voltage readout, though it is still functioning...
