ok here is what i happend my computer was on with the stock hitsink and fan on my 1900+ and it all the sudden popped off and i couldnt get to the plug in time before it burnt up it fell and hit my geforce to but it still works how would i gop about taken this back or gettin another one through amd??? PLease help???

i think i used a pretty good company they say they will replace broken cpus for 1 year but it has to be there fault well there heatsink fell off that they installed so i have a pretty good chance

Man, once my clip on the HS just broke, cracked while the comp was running, just after it snapped I heard a long endless beep & thought it was all over... but fortunatly I unpluged the power and discovered the HS was still on, but not as tight.. I guess I was really lucky it was held by the T-paste and the broken clip...
I almost fried my CPU, but its bad urs fried :o. But, man, good luck, hope u get a new AthyXP to mess and burn w/ real soon...GOOD LUCK, again! :beer:

Bad news! I had a brain fade once, I had taken my HSF off to try it on a machine I was putting together for a friend. I was so used to just swapping back and forth between the two, I forgot about not having PUT IT BACK ON! After a moment I wondered why I wasn't getting a screen, then I remembered!
But it was allready too late! Kiss one 900 T-bird good bye.

ooh i am very sorry for you i almost did that once but ass my hand pressed the power butto it wasnt plugged in and there was no heatsink on the cpu either. I have been very vareful after that but this athlon xp 1900+ is the first hardware i have lost

hmm my bros soyo board with intell 733 is pretty kool it will start up but make beeping noise then shut off.. which is mostly because he has a crapy hsf on there and it falls off if he moves the comp to much.. wish more boards had those little proctions.. i know my system will turn off if cpu temp reaches 60c u might want to check it out and see if u can find that setting in ur bios..

I'll post a pic of my over-clocked upper arm as soon as the pic's get developed. I can largely attribute this degree of over-clocking of my upper arm mass to constantly hoisting my rather large computer case around. So as I can tweak something else on the system. It's kind of a hypertrophy effect. Actually AMD will soon implement this effect into their cpu architecture.

AMD QUANTISPEED HYPERTROPHY ARCHITECTURE. Watch for it in upcoming processor design's.:)

yeah well they wont give me my money back cause 30 days is over the best i can get is a replacement or i would just get a 1500+ but i cant now that i no about how nice they over clock then i would use my extra money to get a new monitor whiuch i really need.

I will say something about a T-Bird which got overheated slightly.
Someone decided to have a look at it. Obviously thinking they knew what they were doing. The dick didn't place the heatsink on properly. As he turned on the ASUS (pronounced asoos!) ............no wonder it didn't turn on. After a few sec's I tell him to turn it off. Which he does. Then taking out of the ASUS (pronounced asoos), hand's it to me saying it must be a dud chip. It nearly melted into my palm. (Now what would I do when I'm alone? Hey TranceBear........:)
I said in amazement mixed in with a bit of anger is " f***k!" That's all I could utter. My prized T-Bird able to do 1.65 at default voltage was no more. Then he turned to me saying "I don't like these clip's on these Vantec's......" Yeah right. That's what I get for letting someone test my processor's. On their system.

I feel your pain on the processors i have lost 3 tbirds 1.3 and 2 1.4 and lost on Xp 1500+.. I just get the 1500 cuz you can unlock it and have it running at 2000+ if you have some nice cooling

Ok i got some bad news so brace yourself. I finaly got in contact with monarch computer and they asked me to send the whole combo back motherboard and everything(not ram). I was runnin my tbird 1200 i went to go get my old soyo mother board hooked it all up and the thing wouldnt work throgh many tests i finaly found that it is the mother board so i think i may be taken it back to frys with the warranty it came with and i hope they will replace it but they dont carry that board anymore so i hop they give me the dragon or whatever it is called. Thanx for the support guys i felt alot better but now i dont have a computer at all. I was having searsures earlier today but i am better since i can use my grandpas p3 600mhz.

That happen to me i rma my abit kg7 mobo back to www.ussa.com and its been over a month and i havenn't heard anything i e-mailed them like 15 times and still nothing only good thing is itsn't on a creditcard so i just tell the company that they didn't ship me anything and i didn't get anything so i don't pay..

As for me, the little clip on the FOP38 is hinged kinda. I was wondering why my temp was at like 53 idle, until I looked and the little hinge part had come off of its track. Slipped it back in and all was well.

Put a new fan on my FOP38, but forgot to plug it into the fan header on the mobo. Realized it when my computer was very quiet. I've never pulled a plug that fast! Lucky for me, the FOP38 is a BIG heatsink. Temp never went over 50.

good crunching box is a p4 amd is great but the extra cache make a big difference..
