First off, Hi I'm new. ok now I have a 680i and 4 gigs of dominator's running at 1066 mhz. With this setup I heard its pretty much hit or miss using up all the dimms and I also heard its pretty iffy with ram running at 1066 mhz... but anyway, Any where between 3 minutes and a hour I fail Orthos blend test. right now Im just stressing my cpu and its going over smoothly. So this leads me to believe its the ram. How should I go about doing this? should I try the blend test with 1 stick at a time until I find the culprit?
680i
q6600 3.2 ghz
4 gbs ddr2 (dominators 4 x 1gbs)
also sorry if this thread doesnt really belong here.

your best bet would be to tun memtest86+ for a few hours.make sure you set the memory up to its stock voltage and timings.if it fails then go module by module until you find the culprit.

With a q6600 and 4 sticks of Ram the northbridge also gets stressed a fair amount. Sometimes upping the NB voltage from default can cuse what seems like a ram failure. Just make sure it's well-cooled, the 680i NB is already hot at stock.

I'll have to check when I go home. The motherboard it self runs pretty cool according to everest. I dont think Ive ever checked the actual NB temps before though.

Alright thanks. I did run memtest but got errors. I didnt try it module by module yet though. Ill give it a try when I go home.
