x-fi question, can you test a card?

In lotro I am getting crashes, but when i pull out the x-fi I have no crashes.

I don't think I have a bad x-fi, but I don't know how to test it? its there a prime like program for sound cards?

Have you tried the card in a different PCI slot? Put it in the one farthest from your video card and see if it helps.

Maybe a driver issue? I would suggest getting the latest drivers and reinstall with drivercleaner pro. And aside from what Stillhouse said about different PCI slot, maybe also different computer.

it was in the farthest slot, and i did have the newest drivers from creative.

I don't know of any way of specifically testing a soundcard for stability. Is LOTRO the only game giving you the trouble?

I'd check the lord of the rings online forums, I'm sure there are others with the same problem.

Should e-mail the company too, they may have seen this problem before.
