this water block for GPUs is not listed as a working block for a 8800gt but it does.
linky to GPU block

works for me.
Why do you have the springs between the backplate and the card? You want the backplate directly up against the card to prevent warping, and the springs on the block side. That is why the backplate has a rubber gasket to be between the card and the backplate.
I found out after I bought an MCW60 for a new 8800GT that my Maze4 would have fit. Oh well.
Love my Maze 4. It's on it's 4th card. I'd say that's a good investment.

well the springs are the way they are because i wanted to leave space for heat sake.

I may be incorrect but in that section of the PCB very little or no heat is being generated

Those are <1/8W resistors. You are in more danger of snaping the PCB because of no support than frying it because of heat.
surely the springs are on correctly, looks like they need to be pushing that way to create force between the block and the die no?

They are supposed to be on the other side on the peice of plastic- the plastic prevents bowing of the board.
PS: does anybody but me read instructions?

by george i think he's got it :)
Nice work, bro.
This is a very cheap alternative compared to buying an MCW-60 or a Maze5. Think I might grab some.

ya temps right now on the GPU are 23C i dont think i have ever seen them go over 30.
What's your ambient temp? That's well low, my water is warmer than that :P

Hey guys, I am also another user to the 8800GT w/ced with a DD Maze4. I have slapped on some copper ramsinks, but they keep falling off because the thermaltape is just too weak, how do you guys prevent your ram sinks from falling off? (I've tried hot-glueing, but it falls off from the heat too).

any cooler water or air will fit a 8800gt/gts G92 if it is compatible with the 7900 series they use the same mounting
i've been able to use the same 4 bolt cooler on a x850xt, 7900gt, 7950gt, x1900aiw and 8800gt

get some good tape like sekisui 5760. be sure to clean off the ram chips really well. try not to touch either surfaces of the heatsinks and the ram when applying the tape. I don't like the superglue way especially if you want to reinstall the stock cooler for future sales/trades. there's a guy selling that tape in the classies but you'll need more posts to get in there.
btw, for the poster trying to sell his blocks on this thread beware a mod doesn't see your post...
Haha didnt even know you guys had a sale section?

Yes but it's only accessible after you've made 100 quality posts (i.e. in the hardware discussion forums and not Vendor/General Discussion) and so long as you use an ISP (not yahoo, MSN, gmail, etc) or military email address for your account.
ahh i dont have an ISP address that i know of haha

i found that for the most part if you give em a good press they stay on. other than that arctic silver thermal adhesive owns. some people think its a pain in the ass to get them off but its not that bad. if ur using the sticky tape on the heat sinks make sure your ram is SUPER DUPER clean.

exactly right....I use contact cleaner with a paper towel, then blow it clean with compressed air.
