I currently have two drives: One newer Seagate ST3250410AS [SATA] (from new build) and my old WD 00JB-00G IDE (from old computer) which i use mostly just for musice storage and stuff.

The older WD IDE , that wouldn't slow down my PC at all correct ? I have all my programs and windows on a partition on the Seagate.

I was also thinking would be an advanatge to get another SATA seagate ? I would also possible want to do a complete backup and store the image on the second drive. I guess that would be a smart thing to do ?

Whats the best way to go about that ?

RAID 1 for the 2 drives, it would write to the first 400 then to the 2nd 400 or both at the same time, i'm not too sure...

and adding another drive would not slow your system down.

Whats the best way to go about that ? Buy Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/) and store you images on the second drive. I guess I'll repeat the old adage "RAID1 is not a backup" as it's still true.
