Do you want to buy the game online or at a store? If you want to buy it online, go to http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/homepages/pcgames/default.asp im sure there are alot more places to find it online. I cant really help you if you want to buy it in a store because i live in Canada and dont really know stores in the US.
If you just want to benchmark , you can download the Q3 Demo and run benchmarks with that. Here's the link:
http://www.quake3arena.com/demo/
If you're on a modem, it'll take a while because its 48 MB.
OK I did see the demo download, and I found quake and quake 2, but I thought I'd need to get the whole game to get the benchmarking right. So how do I go about using the demo as a benchmark?
I'd prefer to buy in a store because it takes so long to download.

Open the console by hitting the "`" key, then type "timedemo 1" without the quotes, then just click on a demo. When its done, reopen the console to see your avg frame rate.

Taylor, they got the Q3A in Walmart. I have seen a whole chunk of them recently. And you might want to buy the whole game. it's fun to play. Worth the shot.
I just had to resurrect this thread, because this marks the beginning of my love affair with computer games. I did indeed find a copy of Q3A at a computer show, learned to play it, and graduated to Serious Sam. I'm hooked like you wouldn't believe! And I owe it all to you people at OC.com. Thanks! Now I have a monkey on my back.
