I'm needing some help getting a good stereo system set up. Currently I have 2 JBL 500 speakers and some craptactular amp

I'm not looking for a surroundsound system. I'm looking for a good receiver for 2 speakers and a subwoofer. I would like to buy them all separate and not spend more than $150 for a receiver. I dont mind getting one used

I'm wanting something that I can blast and still sound good. Something that can blast some Pink Floyd and give me goosebumps. Is this possible with my budget?

Anyone have some suggestions?

I can only share personal experience which is with Athena as-f2.2 speakers and a jbl reciever. Jbl is made by harmon kardon if I'm not mistaken so maybe try this for the reciever

it seems to be well regarded as a great deal. I love my speakers too

but they're not for sale anywhere else that I know of and they're more expensive now unfortunately. They were $400 for the pair when I got em. I'm not an audiophile but these where recommended by a few on ecoustics.com and I'm really happy with them.
