I just picked up a SoundBlaster Live! Value for my family computer (ONLY $5!!) which is a Dell, and that means integrated audio. I was wondering what stepes I would take in order to get it working. Any articles on this? Thanks

Motherboard Manual will tell you (that's if you got a MB Manual with Dell) If you do'nt have mb manual look inside your computer and see what make/model the MB is, go online to the manufacturers website and download the manual. Also go and download the SB Live drivers at soundblaster.com or creative.com if you do not already have them. Next go to add/ remove and uninstall (remove all files) the onboard sound card drivers. Shutdown, open case, locate the jumper for onboard sound and disable it. Next gently put the SB Live card in a pci slot, make sure it is seated in the slot like the other hardware ethernet,vidcard...etc. (try to use a pci slot that is NOT shared, your MB Manual will tell you what pci slots are shared and what are not shared, pci slots 2 and 3 are usually a safe bet !) Put the case/panel back on, Startup and install the SB Live Drivers.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I just didn't know about an onboard audio jumper, but I guess it makes sense. Thanks again.
