View Full Version : One more time...
I used to crunch before "nothing substantial or amazing" just my PD 930. but then the work servers were always down and that kinda crap, or wouldn't let me upload, but I'm back to give it another shot :)
Also got a C2D "T5500" in my Gfs laptop, but I dare not install anything on there she doesn't want lol...girls, sucks cause its actually 25% faster in superpi "1mb" than my 930.
Is there anyway to change your name in SETI ?
you know on the Berkley website under Your account says your name, then email address.
edit...nm found it :)

Welcome back!!
Be sure to set your online preferences to:
Computer is connected to the Internet about every: 1 or .5 days. This is how often you will turn in completed work and ask for new work.
Maintain enough work for an additional: 10 days. This is enough to weather most any network storm.
you got it :) cant wait to I go quad core :) see some nice improvements then

Welcome!
It there is any help you need let us know. You'll love a quad. They rock for seti crunching!
.. and it's not about how big the numbers are, it's about the fact that were working for a larger cause. Wether your credit is 50 a day, or 30000 a day, it all adds up over time :>
When I started crunching here for OCseti my RAC was about 2200 .. now it's 11800, soon it will be 14000.
By year end I want to pass niksub. :>
.. ok so maybe it's a LITTLE bit about the numbers.

rofl svirf.
:welcome: back to the team PhysX!
I dunno, Im kinda wishing I didnt install SETI on my X2 TL-56 laptop.. I ran it 24/7 for almost a year now, and the fan has broken, the CPU sits ~70C per core, and if I dont have the laptop open and on a 45degree angle wedged up against something, it throttles.
Ah well, guess you can't win em all lol.

 Ouch, that's not good. I quit crunching on my iBook because the palm rest was getting mighty toasty. Too bad too, it was almost pulling in as much RAC as one of my Tualatins. Not worth damaging a laptop though. :-/

Yeah, I agree.. but oh well. Its only used for taking uni notes during semester, and its just a 24/7 cruncher otherwise.
Actually, Im not looking forward to going to back to uni tomorrow for the start of semester 1, cause now my RAC is going to drop by like 500 or so :(
i hate that its all about the numbers, but i love it at the same time, I HAD to pay fricking $35 just now to recover my PW from my seti account that has 44k+ on it... well my email acct was what i had to pay the cash for so i could change it, but damn.... coulda spent that money on something else... oh well... it coems and goes.
by the end of today i should be in the top250 :)
bah she said install it anyways, it sometimes for a few hrs a day, so i told it to only use 50% of the cpu and not to run when only on batt :) it will go easy on it.
