The card came without any heatsinks/fans. The defaults on the card were 175/166. The card has 64mb SDR on it. I can get the core to 217 without artifacts. The mem will goto 178. This is because i rose my v/io to 3.9v. The raising of the vio had no effect on my core speed.

If i cool the gpu and back side of the mx400, can i expect an increase in mem speed? I hope to get the core to 230 or 235 and the mem to about 185 or 190.

Thanx!

I'm sure if you add a hsf to the core and maybe some heatsinks to the mem... it will definetly give you a better and more stable oc... as for the voltage... I believe that just gave more power to the card but it's regulated before getting to the core and mem... Good luck:D

Do like I did and some ram sinks and a Blorb. Also it`s kinda wierd I have the VisionTeK GeForce2 MX400 and I have a defult core speed of 200 and a memory speed of 166. Maybe it`s cause I have the Xtasy5564 one.

There are SO many variations to MX200/400 cards that it's not suprising, even if they're both VisionTek

WOW....This card is pretty amazing. I love it.

UPDATE :

I added a huge socket 7 heatsink to it, glued with superglue and used thermal paste. Now my overclock goes to 234/180 and my vio is back down to 3.5v. I now tried quake3 all the way up 1280x1024x32 maxed and it runs great! I never go below 25fps ON A CELERON 266 @ 424 WITH ONLY 64MB RUNNING WIN2K!!

I had a very very very close call.....I added a small heatsink to the back behind the gpu. I put it in, and colors were distorting and everything....kind of like what happened to my radeon. I imediately took off the heatsink and cleared the thermal paste/glue. ALL is good now. WHEW!!

Now to hit 190 on the ram.....all i need is some heatsinks.

THANX!

Wow, 1280x1024x32 on a Celerey @ 20fps? That IS pretty nice! :) Good to hear sucess! Now you have to do what I need to do... add ramsinks! :) (I've been putting it off, but I want to do it!)
