Right now I have v23 sp2 which is from 2006. I saw some release candidate, would they work?

Also I stumbled on some tomato firrmware, is that any good?

I like DDWRT's latest releases so much that I run them on our corporate (just two WAP's total) LAN with WPA and RADIUS authentication.....

I even had the option of running Cisco Aironet 1200's but I opted for the WRT54GL because of its price and features when loaded with DDWRT.

I have heard mixed things with tomato but I have never had a problem with DDWRT and it gives you sooo many options to choose from

So, what DDWRT firmware are you using now?

I am happy with the options that are offered in ddwrt v23 sp2. I thought it was old, dated 2006. Their website lists v23 sp2 as stable and v24 as a candidate.

I'm on "Firmware: DD-WRT v23 SP1 Final (05/16/06) std" right now

Seems like you know what you are doing though, but do the different version upgrades add much, it seems like most everything is already in.

Yeah, I'm using Firmware: DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/15/06) std and have had zero problems.

First AP is at our main office. It looks like the router was rebooted some time recently. Perhaps one of my users who thinks they know how to fix things rebooted it?

I see.

Anyone have any experience with overclocking function and xmit power?

I've boosted power on the router above the 28mW but have found that the radio chipset gets really dirty on the transmit at the higher power levels (i think it was really crappy above 100mW). Just FWIW.....

I guess if i have time I'll get out the calibrated spectrum analyzer some day and take some real measurements, but previously I have noted it in Netstumbler.
