View Full Version : Just bragging

This may be off-topic, but I'll try to drag it back in the end.

I just want to brag a bit on my son. He opened his PS2 on Xmas day. Shortly before that I bought a PS1 with a few games including Metal Gear Solid. He started playing that on the 25th. He didn't have a way to save games until today when we got a PS1 mem card, so he spent the previous 3 days playing as far as he could until I told him to shut it off. He beat the whole game (granted, on EZ difficulty) just a little while ago.

I can't help but think it's just insane to even bother to buy him games when he goes through them so quickly, but it makes him happy. (And here's where I bring it back on topic. :D) Anyone have a suggestion on something that will last him a while? I know I asked for suggestions before Xmas, but I'm wondering if, given his ability to dispose of games quickly, there would be any new recommendations. HE will be buying the next one, though. :)

FYI, I almost got him the latest Bond game to go with the PS2 but switched last minute to Crash Bandicoot. He also has the racing game that came with the PS2 (GT3?). Those will *occupy* him (as well as the other skill levels and cheats and hacks of Metal Gear), but I know he's going to be looking for the next good one to save his money for. Any input will (I'm sure) be greatly appreciated by him.

Metal Gear Solid 2 :)

Tony Hawk 3, that game's replay value is super high.

Grand Theft Auto 3 is good game. Might be a little violent. Metal Gear Solid 2 is good also. But my fav for ps2 is Grand turismo 3
A-spec.

If he likes RPG's, try Final Fantasy X. It's really impressive, and FF games usually last a VERY long time before beaten.

He has apparently seen one of the FF games. When I mentioned them he said he liked it. Looks like he'll be aiming for one of those or the Metal Gear sequel. Thanks for the help everyone.

Go w/ Chrono Cross. Its like Final Fantasy, but about a hundred million times better.

Tony Hawk is an excelent game. I just picked up 2 for myself the other day, and I can't put it down. Its very good.

Grand theft auto 3 should last a long time. I remember when I first got the original grand theft auto. I played that until I got the 2nd one. Much replay value.

if you want him to really stick with some games:

Gran Turismo 3 will take about a month to finish (if he plays every day for a few hours), and FFX will take over a month even if he plays it every day.

theyre also very very good games, graphics are stunning. you might even get into it as well.:)

IMO, i remember playing gran turismo 1 and FF7, for my old PSX. Gran Turismo takes well over a month to get ever secret and FF7 took me 60 hours to beat, and those were the old versions. I still played it for about 3 months because it was loaded with secrets. My .02

Ahh, FF7...

I still love that game, lol. I played it until it wouldn't count hours anymore, and maxed out all my chars. Heh, i earned 40-someting mastered HP-Plus. And somehow i still can't beat Ruby Weapon...

old ps1's Ogre Battle. I spent 1000+ of hours on it, just too damn fun for me:D total of 13 differnt of endings, it will take a while for him to find out every possible endings, not to mention all the hidden trasures and characters.
