I will make a new waterblock sometimes after New Year. It will be in aluminium like the one I'm using now.
Why aluminium? My friend works with it so he makes blocks and stuff for me for free! :)

It will be like DD Maze1. But now to my question.

How thick will the bottom of the block be? Some people say at least 5mm because aluminium is not as good as copper and some say the thinner the better.

It will be 1/2".

What do you guys think?

From some of the test results I've seen, I'd have to go with 5mm.
I do, and it works.
Just my 2 cents...

Ok, thanks.

I'll go for that, then.

1/2 inch bottom is too thick I think. I'd go 5mm just watch the clearance between the die and processor as well as the two being as parallel. Get the mating surfaces as perfect as you can, and use a good silver thermal paste.

Thanks for your help.

I'll be using ASII I think. Actually I've never used it before. :)
