I do need to read a few more of these threads, but I just got the X-Fi XGamer SB0730 pci card, & could return it. Is it "better" to have a more flexible (for lack of words) cable connection capability, &/or DDL than the X-Fi XGamer. Would the X-Fi Gamer Fatal1ty qualify. In the past when I had a home stereo component surround sound setup I can only say it was once in a blue moon but I did get the TV stations in a version of "surrond", meaning all speakers working, and a little jazz involved. AND I am scared that the X-Fi XGamer and the Logitec 5500 may not even connect up ANY WAY to make me happy, ie possibly without re-connecting plugs and wires. I want to watch TV, vcr, home component DVD, and game, with Surround sound (when it is there), games in multichannel (when its there), mp3s and CD music are fine in stereo, and stereo tv broadcasts are ok. but the music ant tv is a real bonus if you can get it in surround (for both quanity & Nquality in speakers). But theats not in itself enough to prevent me from sticking with the X-Fi XGamer. But if there is an interconnect betweeen the X-Fi XGamer and 5500s via the cable connections preventing the first items in my list I want to know about it now, thats a shove in the wrong direction. Even if I don't necc. need to it would be nice to hear the Logitec 5500s decode the digital output of the DVD player, will it even do that?
I HAD THE FOLLOWING ALREADY ANSWERED (called the store): connection not needed
LG DVD analog audio out: Do I plug the 4-pin audio into the AUX_IN? Or let the music signal go throught the ribbion 80-pin cable. There is no CD_IN (or TAD) anymore on the X-Fi XGamer.
LG DVD digital audio out: Do I plug the 2-pin dig audio out to the JP_1 or any part of the SPDIF_IO or anywhere else on the X-Fi XGamer
I do not have a I/O anything. Do I need to plug in the 4-pin molex just for the X-Fi XGamer, or does it get all its power from the pci slot?
