Does this PSU have the same disease as the Ultra 500w PSU? 500w blowing your rig is bad enough...but 1000w, oh boy!@ Good luck getting the rebate from TD though, I've always heard they never get back to you on them.

How complicated do you think it would be to rig up one of those fire supression systems they have in racecars inside a PC case?

Well, you don't need to go as far as a fire suppression system, just pull out an insurance policy on your house covering fire damage.

ultra for the most part, iirc their recent 750 watt model is to be avoided, is a great company now and has recovered well from the x connect fiasco. The x3 line is certainly not anywhere near the worst you can do and dare i say near the top of the line within its price range.

However i cant say such great things about tiger; although some defend it there are enough cases against them for me to look elsewhere unless the sale is drastic enough.

Another possibility depending on what brand names ya like...

Newegg has an Antec Truepower 1k PS for $199.00
For the balance you can get a 2X2G G.Skill 4-4-4-12 pack for $95.00 (this set was recommended by DFI for overclocking btw)

Total $295.00 from Newegg with no MIRs.

Small warning however. There has been some reported AC ripple on that PS in one review I read it was however within ratings.

Looks good.

The PC8000 From GSKill are most likely better than the Corsair sticks :)

The Ultra X3 is a good unit.
