so i have got garry's mod 10 a ways back and it worked just fine with my celeron and 7300 GS video card but now with my sli'd 8600GT's and q6600 it doesn't work, any idea's?

here is a screen shot of what i mean, and the system specs are in my sig.

i'm thinking is a driver issue as i have had that happen in a couple of games (only certain parts where that purple black pixel thing) and with fear online and cs:S it would default to the smallest res possible and give me this error. but again that error was ONLY with fear 3-4 times and cs:S once, never with garry's mod.

Thats a driver issue from the looks of it.. Looks too clean cut to be a GPU OC issue.

You know, at first glance, that looks liek a color palatte that would make for a popular game in Japan, just need some kitty ears on the gravity gun, and some large eyed girls in short mini skirts to shoot at.

LOL Indeed.

Might I ask why you posted the error with playing Fear and not Garry's Mod? And like 4-bit color... eek.

Yeah, it looks like a driver issue. However, you may want to check to make sure that your HL2 files are all updated, maybe verify the cache integrity also. It looks like the models are there but the skins are missing.

i posted the fear problem only because when i was playing fear the same style of pattern of purple and black square came in the game right from the start. it only happened on certain areas in the game on fear. but in garry's mod it was all over as seen in the screen shot.

i will uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

That's the "texture missing" texture. It's quite common when you install a mod pack onto the game. I recommend you reinstall Garry's Mod and validate the files. It's not likely to be a driver problem, it's the game engine saying it doesn't have textures for anything.

But I still recommend a good driver reinstall, always the first thing you should do when you get that error. Also, try disabling SLI and see if it continues happening.
