I have an older CTX(Piece Of Crap!) that originally came with a pentium 133 non mmx. The board will support up to a pentium 200 non mmx at 3.5 volts. Now I decided to put a pentium 200 mmx in and it recognizes it as a pentium- S under the bios info screen but windows recognizes it as an mmx.
I cannot find a jumper for the voltage and was wondering what will happen if I continue to run it like this? I have a good heat sink in it and it stays fairly cool.

What is the Vcore of the Pmmx? isn't it a 3.5 V also?
If not what is it?
Try updating the BIOS to the newest 1, and go to the boards manufacturers website and look for a booklet for ur mobo, or just email them asking for the book.
If I remember right.... the MMX chips had split plane voltage or something. Seems like 2.8v and 3.5v, but my mind has a few cobwebs in it today.
***EDIT***
Here is what I found at Tom's Hardware about the MMX Pentiums:
"split voltage technology, 2.8 V for CPU core, 3.3 V for CPU I/O interface"

The problem is there are no jumpers to change the voltage. The board was designed to support pentium (P54C) processors only @ 3.5 volts. I don't think I will leave this chip in because I am having some instability in windows. I will just have to find a pentium 200 non mmx. The 133 is too slow.
