I don't know if anyone rembers my first setup using water cooling as seen in the following link http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=547331 but if you do you can appreciate why improvements were necessary.I say improvements and not replacement because i did like the cheap cost; the raw 21st century commercialism and uncongested layout afforded by using a plastic unit and a open parts housing. This new design stays true to this philosphy by retaining the plastic and openness of the old while removing all metal components that don't need electricity to work. Their is not a single metal fastener(except for the house clamps), ,metal tray or anything else of the sort: the entire computer is placed together with plasic zip ties.
The storage unit was modified largely with a soldering iron to cut the whole for the power supply, cdrom ect. The mother boarded hand at the bottom of the top drawer by 4 zip ties to the rails across the side with the hard rives atop it. the bottom drawer houses the pump, heater core(now a 77' bonneville core to replace the leaky aluminum one i had) and open resivior. In this new build both videocard and cpu are watercooled using swiftech stuff. The enitre thing is accualy movable as everything is or can be fastened.
Preformance wise the computer runs pretty well. The 8800gt had a little vmod so its temps were no longer managable by the air cooler i had and jump to around 80c before the card frooze now under load the card runs around 40-50c. The cpu has the same temp as before reaching 50ish under load after about 30 min.
The first picture is where i worked from once i decide i wanted the computer in the drawer
