X-Fi XtremeMusic issues

So, I just got my XtremeMusic from Dell, popped that baby in, installed the latest drivers from creative's website not the disc. Installed the drivers, alchemy and the Console Launcher.

Here is the problem I'm having. XFi is not seeing my Z5500s as 5.1 only shows 2/2.1 Speakers. Currently I have it hooked up via analog cables.

How do I get it to see the rest of the speakers?

Do you have the speakers set to 5.1 in the console?


A friend of mine with the same card advised against not going from the disk as he said he had some weird issues, he didnt go into detail but you may want to try uninstalling the creative drivers and going from the disk and then updating, there is also a windows update that fixed an issue i was having with my card.

Neither the console nor the console launcher allow me to choose anything other than 2/2.1 Speakers.


But I'll try uninstalling, run driver cleaner and go from the disk.

Got it working. Did a clean wipe, and installed from CD then upgraded to current drivers.

ok...i just got a X-fi Platinum......I was wondering if anyone could help me get the Maximum out of it......:$ it seems to have a variety of functions some of which i cant understand
